Manson Hing designed a new studio addition on one end of this narrow house and property, which provided a new private courtyard shared by the studio and house. The courtyard created a tranquil outdoor living room space to the 1,886 sq ft structure and allowed the owners to take full advantage of Santa Barbara’s mild, Mediterranean climate.

The owners enjoy the enclosed courtyard all year round, reveling in the mild climate and interacting with the great variety of birds visiting the area.
